About

Irreligiosophy means “the wisdom of irreligion” — it is about questioning dogmas handed down uncritically to us and researching into the history, practice, and theology of various religions. Religious claims are scrutinized with a skeptical eye and placed in historical perspective, with an emphasis on pagan precursors (especially Egyptian and Greek) to current beliefs and practices. We focus on Christianity because that is the religion that we are most familiar with and confronted by in our daily lives.

The Creators of Irreligiosophy:

Leighton Allred was raised by wolves in Siberia. He grew up with very cold feet but able to read wolf. The rare but important skill of wolf-reading led him to where he is today, National Champion of the Inter-Wolf Spelling Bee. His victory was clenched with his uncanny ability to spell “Arooooooooooooooooooo” with the exact number of o’s demanded by Snarl McGragg.

Reasons for creating Irreligiosophy: Through historical studies he discovered there were things his childhood church, and other churches abroad, hide from their faithful. He wishes to bring to light these facts and allow others, faithful and unfaithful, to decide for themselves the importance of these facts.

Chuck Morrison grew up in Utopia Planitia, the largest recognized impact basin on Mars, and future site of Starfleet’s starship construction facilities. With a mean surface temperature of -63°, Chuck’s feet were often colder than Leighton’s. Like herpes, he eventually returned to Earth to erupt in a discharge of historical-textual criticism of the planet’s main religions.

Reasons for creating Irreligiosophy: To provide a wider audience for textual criticism of the Bible and the scholarly research that has been going on for the last three hundred years.
