So rather than slap a podcast together before its time, Leighton and I discuss award-winning sci-fi author Orson Scott Card’s fear of the gay.

Oh, great, now I have to throw out my two copies of Ender’s game. It’s weird thought, I always got the impression that Ender wasn’t so much a good person whose atrocities were justifiable, but more that he was efficiently ruthless, and a sociopath. I never felt any sympathy towards the character, but was intrigued by the ability to act with total reason. He had an almost machine quality. Like one of those god like children that kill redshirts in ST:TOS.
I didn’t realize this about OSC, next you’ll be telling me Arthur C Clark is a moon hoaxer.
Interesting that you felt no sympathy for Ender. I always felt sorry for him because he was picked on for no reason — like everyone is when growing up. Did you read “Speaker for the Dead” and “Xenocide”?
