[chuck]I’ve gotten a few emails asking about what’s going on and when can the new show be expected. Currently I’m working three to four 12-hour shifts per week in addition to the regular 8-hour shifts in an attempt to pay down the debt incurred last year. I’m not sure when the new show will start, but 1) I’d like to build up a backlog of episodes before it launches, and 2) it’s a low priority for me right now. Priority #1 is getting rid of the debt, which I think I can do but it’s going to take a while.
That having been said, feel free to drop some episode ideas in the comments, if anyone is still reading here. So far, I plan to do a show on the resurrection, mythicism vs historicism, CS Lewis, and the witch hunts.
Adios muthafuckaaaas. My last post will be a link to the new podcast, if and when.

I just finished listening to the last episode! 🙁 Sad for it to come to an end. I listened to all of the episodes in the span of a few months, getting in two to three episodes per day at times. Thank you for the entertainment and education!!! I hope everything works out for you and I look forward to any of your future podcasts.
@ Primum Movens: I’ve wanted to do a podcast on logical fallacies for a while. The hard part is making it interesting.
@ Art: I make crib notes for every episode. I wonder if, in addition to listing the sources for each episode, posting my crib notes would be helpful.
@ Alma-mater: a show on the lost boys would be very interesting. I would if I could track any of them down. Garton might be up for an episode or two, but I don’t know if he’d have the time for cohosting.
@ Rachel: two or three episodes a day?! That sounds like a violation of the Geneva Convention.
You could listen to a bunch of religious podcasts (well, maybe one or two episodes) to find examples of them. =P Actually, I would be willing to go through and try to find them if you gave me a list of the fallacies that you’re going to cover. =)
I agree with Primum Movens. I think it would be interesting if you could just find examples of people using the logical fallacies and then break it down as to why it is wrong. Religious podcasts are swimming in them.
Do a show on the Raelians, sort of an alien sex cult. Would make a great episode.
Wow. I just read the intro about Raelians on Wikipedia, they would *definitely* make a good episode (anyone who uses a Swastika as a peace sign today…).
I am going to miss leighton terribly you guys just worked together, he made the podcast hilarious while you did too but you got most Of the information through! I hope you bring the mins carter skunk dick o the week I found It interesting, funny, and valuable information! I I’m 16 an I don’t retain information to well, but you guys make it easy with humor, I have become so interested in religion so thank you irreligiosophy! Now I cant wait for the unapologetics, although leighton will be missed I’m glad you are now hosting another podcast! I really would love to hear about more cults throughout history like the Jonestown cult, and mormonism, lol! Ex cult members as guests would be really awesome
@ Primum Movens: Listening to religious podcasts would be the excruciating part of that show. If you’re willing to do the footwork, I’m game. Email me (camnchar at gmail.com) and I’ll send you a list of fallacies to look for. Shouldn’t take too long, the Evidence 4 Faith podcast alone should give you multiple fallacies per episode (Kirk Hastings supplied an ideal example of the Tu Quoque fallacy during an email exchange that I might use).
@ Stephen: Would you like to contribute? I can email you a list as well.
@ Steve: This has been suggested before, but I’ve shied away from it since I know so little about the cult and they seem pretty irrelevant. But the source material sounds interesting at least.
@ Krissy: Glad you enjoyed Irreligiosophy. I miss Leighton too, like an excised cancer.
I miss the show, I was hoping to hear a podcast with your opinion on the NC Amendment One
I’ve recently started spending $2 a week on the lottery for the sole purpose winning, paying off your debt, and paying a you a five year salary in return for a consistent release of podcasts from your new show, and possibly a published book. I will let you know when I collect my winnings.
See PZ Myers Why I’m an Atheist article, 4th paragraph.

Chuck please check this one 🙂 Kent Hovind gets picked on by Ali G (another character of the guy who plays Borat – Sasha Baron Cohen).
Chuck:
My heart is all aflutter at the idea that you may be returning to the pod-waves. As for suggestions, if you have the time, you might want to check out a few of the other atheist/etc podcasts so you’re not hitting overdone subjects; e.g. logical fallacies, that subject has been done to death. I vote for sticking it to Romney and Mormonism for a while
I have mentioned often that I found Leighton to be an obnoxious boor, but there is no question that the two of you had real chemistry which made the show so funny. I hope you don’t give up on the idea of finding another stooge. Surely it couldn’t be that hard to find another clueless bozo for a foil.
One last, hope you can get Bob Price on again sometime, that show was special.
Good luck, Chuck, take your time. You got lots of folks pulling for you.
Minus
@ Mase: NC Amendment One passed, as expected. People continue to vote away civil rights, which is unconstitutional. They’ll find themselves on the wrong side of history eventually, but in the meantime their lack of empathy for their fellow human beings is galling.
@ plasticuproject: I am holding my breath until you let me know.
@ Mutsie: Curious that it was the first episode that did it for him. I re-listened to it this morning and didn’t find anything that jumped out at me as particularly convincing, just a sharing of what deconverted Leighton and me. He must have been right up against that edge.
@ ironlungz: Funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. I still think Kent was responsible for that floater, and covering it with paper does not make it better. Respect.
@ Minus: I may re-do some of the Mormonism episodes with some expansions and corrections. They were early in the game and sported some inaccuracies.
As much as I think he is, was, and always will be an irredeemable douchebag, Leighton was resistant to a lot of the shit I threw his way because he knew I didn’t mean it — and vice versa. That would be difficult to replicate with someone else. I’m also a little burned out on working with a partner. I’ll give it some time and re-evaluate then.
Bob Price is a definite invite.
Wait… didn’t PZ say that he hadn’t heard of you when you interviewed him?!
Looking forward to the new podcast. Maybe a bit off track but what about discussing the extent to which UFOs, alien abduction etc are modern religious movements? Also track down Kim van Gundy and make her pay!
