[chuck]The good folks over at Church of Awesome (some of whom you may remember from the Mormon Missionary and Temple episodes) had a round table on the absurdity of the Atonement and invited me to join in. The result can be found here: The Atonement.

I think I was a little fuzzy from the beginnings of a sinus infection mixed with an off-brand energy drink, but I had a good time. Give it a listen for the rest of the crew in any case.

  1. Just looked in my iTunes and there it is! Listening to it now!

  2. Citizen Wolf says:

What do they worship at that church? Awesome stuff?

  3. Another post on Irreligiosophy!

I knew there was a reason to stay subscribed!!!!!

Cant wait to listen. Church Of Awesome is a solid podcast, plus they have me drinking whiskey now! Is there any chance you would join forces with the ex-Mormon bros. on a more regular basis?

  4. My schedule’s pretty tight, so I don’t know about “regular” basis. But I’m definitely up for a return visit.

  5. That would be awesome!

This may be the Friday night Johnnie Walker Black talking but . . . Chuck, as a loyal listener of yours I just want you to know how much I miss your humor and shit. Over the last year coming out of religion your view point helped me understand and deal with the FUN of divorcing myself from a fundy family and becoming comfortable with being an ex-believer!

All that being said I am really looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow when I sit down and listen to this COA podcast!

We all miss you bro . . . oh, and Fuck You!

  6. Thanks, Ben. And fuck you harder.

  7. Im 15, I recently found you guys
I have every single podcast in my itouch
I have listened to about 20 so far and I’m hooked
Its nice to listening to you guys laugh and discuss really interesting topics
I was devastated that i missed out, and that you would be discontinued
Thank you so so much for at least posting every once in a while..
    🙂 <3

  8. Sorry we missed you. Hopefully there’s enough of an archive to keep you busy for a while.

  9. I loved it, definitely one of their best and that’s because you bring something different to the table, what with being from a polygy background. I’ve listened to it 4 times since thursday but being on post-op drugs tends to make me drowsy so, listening to podcasts is the only thing i can do when I take it 😛

  10. Ive been listening to their podcast for a couple of weeks, i love it. Being 24 and an avid bourbon drinking athiest kentuckian, they are right up my alley. Im listening to a podcast and drinking some beam as i type this. Chuck, i cant wait for your next show, ive resorted to rewatching hitchens debates on youtube.
I only write all of that to make you feel better, because honestly, you are old and im iust tired of hearing my dad complain that he has no contemporaries to listen to anymore. Really though, i (and my former minister father, along with many others) would do anything to help out with your new show. Ive listened to you since early ’10 and you have helped me to articulate the beliefs i have always held. Pease let us know if we can do anything.
    Fuck you- Derrick

  11. somewhere in greece says:

Ah Chuck, it was lovely to hear your voice again.

  12. Herb (12th Apostle) says:

Holy fucking cow. Chuck, I need to break down the illogic that is Rick Santorum. There is so much meat on them bones for you to salivate over and pick at. There is the whole sex issue (abortion, contraception, abstinance); the environmental issue (liberals put the earth’s well-being before man’s well-being); the role of women in the workplace. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my fucking god!

In fact, I’d enjoy hearing your break down on all the major presidential candidates, including Obama but minus Gingrich (don’t feed the pig). But given the religious take-down of your podcast, Santurum is bent over with his cheeks spread apart for you.

  13. Herb (12th Apostle) says:

Damn, I meant to say “I need you to break down…”

  14. Do a podcast on fellow Mormon Mitt Romney!

  15. The Republican Primary field boggles my mind. How the likes of Perry, Bachman, Santorum, and Gingrich could get as far as national contenders in a presidential election shows what a mess American politics is in. Huntsman and Romney almost look rational in comparison.

  16. Discord.agent says:

It was nice to hear Chuck ridiculing the ridiculous again, even if it was on a false podcast.
