Read More[irrelig]We’ve come to the second part of our expose on the PodCastAwards competition, the “mostly skeptical” portion. Not to worry, there are still a few religious loons to dress down, but the majority of the podcasts we go over this week are indeed skeptical. And unfortunately, very boring. Nothing we could do about that — but we gave it our best shot.
All that and some shocking news about the future of the Atheist News Network! Listen here.
Read More[ann]Listener Chris sends us a report about how the Ireland branch of the Catholic Church was caught with its pants on fire (shock! awe!). But it’s okay, people: they weren’t lying, they were “mentally reserving” the truth. Who knew God was an attorney? And try as we might to ignore him, listener Richard lets us know that Glenn Beck still exists. Get your smug-faced, square-haircut, weepy-eyed-Mormon-jackass bashing right here.
I promise we’ll keep to our new schedule of full podcast early in the week and ANN later in the week — except for the fact that I just mentally reserved the word, “maybe.”
Read More[irrelig]Ok, so we’ve been nominated for an award in the Religion and Inspiration category of Podcastawards.com.We were truly, truly honored. So honored that we decided to check out the rest of the podcasts in that category who were our co-nominees (such as Mars Hill, Wigglian Way, and More Than One Lesson). Now we’re less honored.
Anyway, What resulted was our longest podcast to date. We’re still recuperating.
By the way, the “break music” is actually real Wiccan music. It’s called “Hear Diana,” and was composed by some guy named BarleySinger.
Read More[ann]A new episode of ANN is upon you! We cover the Catholic Church’s recent threat to withdraw from charity services entirely if they are forced to stop discriminating against the gays in Washington, DC. Also, we recap the brief but entertaining career of Carrie Prejean as a beacon of conservative family values.
Give it a listen here.
